This is one of my favorite songs from the '80s, and I felt the title was an ideal catchphrase for commercial agencies. Co-produced with Redah, we recorded this version featuring funky acoustic and electric guitars, live Fender bass, and drums. Christopher Kenji was the perfect choice for lead vocals, and he, along with Redah, provided the background harmonies.
Mark Gleckman did an excellent job shooting and editing the video, and we also brought in the talented Danielle King for the dance sequences, adding an extra layer of energy and creativity.

"Simply Irresistible" opens up with those driving rhythms that we all immediately recognize from Robert Palmer's 1988 classic, which we've recast as a powerful male vocal cover, prowess of Christopher Kenji. While the original's slick 1980's production and iconic video served to define the rock-pop sound of the 80's, our male vocalist interpretation serves to provide all of that energetic recognition, in a arrangement with funky acoustic and electric guitars, live fender bass and a bouncy snap drum sound. It offers a little nostalgia, for sync applications (high end brands/film/TV/reality).
Who Is Robert Palmer?
Robert Palmer (1949–2003) was an English singer-songwriter who mixed rock, pop, R&B, and reggae with a sophisticated, groove-based approach. Palmer has such catchy melodic hooks, with impeccable rhythmic accuracy. It’s no wonder his catalogue is well suited for re-interpretation.

Written for his album Heavy Nova (1988). “Simply Irresistible” was an up-tempo, catchy blend of funky bass lines, with punk drums, cymbal work and Palmer's strong presence on vocals. With such incredible energy and hooky-ness, it is an ideal song for modern covers.
