This reimagined cover of this Steppenwolf classic may very well be one of the most ambiguous and intriguing arrangements we've created. Co-produced by the talented Jonathan Beaudette, our goal was to craft an ethereal, mysterious, and obscure rendition that would resonate with music supervisors for trailers and TV shows. We enlisted the artist Jesse Dvorak, (aka Blood Nebraska), to deliver a dark and mystical vocal performance that perfectly complements the 'trippy' lyrics.

Jesse also created and edited the intriguing lyric video.

Magic Carpet Ride, Steppenwolf — cover song male vocals

"Magic Carpet Ride" (Steppenwolf) Cover for TV & Film | Robert Etoll Productions

"Magic Carpet Ride" starts with those unmistakable psychedelic grooves from Steppenwolf's classic version back in 1968, but now we've interpreted it, with a beautiful version by male vocalist Jesse Dvorak of Blood Nebraska. While the original high-energy rock energy version defined classic rock, our male cover version for movie soundtracks transforms the beloved anthem, into a slow sung, song cover version, that features deep mystical vocals, ideal for the modern-day sync applications needing both recognition and atmospheric intrigue.

Magic Carpet Ride – Steppenwolf

“Magic Carpet Ride”, was released in 1968 on Steppenwolf’s second album, The Second and was written by John Kay and Rushton Moreve. The single holds distinctive driving rock rhythms combined with psychedelic organ and surreal lyrics, to create an anthem for that defining era. The song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1969 and is a staple of the late '60s, representing a sense of expanded consciousness and a sense of unbounded escape.

Film, TV & Trailer Content

This baritone male voice, works for ambient film trailers, primarily for media, where there's some kind of supernatural aspect, or other conscious exploration or mystical journey. The atmospheric arrangement potentially can be what binds the atmosphere together for a promotional piece, which highlights equal parts, nostalgia and modernity. Any TV show or movie that has supernatural elements or psychological exploration, or even just any content that references alternate states of consciousness or a spiritual awakening, would find this version providing atmospheric presence, while supporting, not covering up, your visual storytelling.
