“One of my favorite Leon Russell songs previously recorded by Donny Hathaway and Ray Charles amongst others, I just loved the song and had only one singer in mind for this reimagined version: Frankie Rossi from Rhode Island. Frankie has a voice like no other and he just nailed this simple arrangement I created using only piano, ambient synth pads and live string quartet.
I recorded the strings and piano here in LA and Frankie recorded the vocals and filmed the video at Stevie Badessa’s studio in Rhode Island.” - Robert Etoll

Leon Russell was an American musician, songwriter, and producer, born Claude Russell Bridges in 1942 in Lawton, Oklahoma, who became one of the more influential figures in American popular music. Known for his progressively distinct voice, rhythmic piano playing, his music is characterized by a blending of styles that includes elements of rock, country, blues and gospel. "A Song for You", was composed by Leon Russell in 1970. On January 17, 2018 the song was added to the Grammy Hall of Fame, celebrated for its vulnerability, emotional depth, and timeless expression of love, remorse, and human connection.
